Reclaiming the Image Workshop
Join us at Republic London for the Reclaiming the Image Workshop, a free mixed-media creative session led by artist and curator Julie Elizabeth. As part of Republic’s Black History Month programme, this workshop invites you to explore ideas around identity, representation, heritage, and self-expression through creative practice.
Create & Connect
The workshop forms part of Republic’s Create & Connect strand, bringing people together through art and shared creative experiences. Julie Elizabeth will guide participants through a mixed-media activity designed to encourage experimentation and personal expression. You do not need previous artistic experience to take part. Instead, you can explore different materials, ideas, and approaches at your own pace. The session offers a relaxed space to make, reflect, and connect with others. You can also use the workshop as an opportunity to think about how images shape the way people see themselves and their communities.
Black History Month at Republic
The Reclaiming the Image Workshop takes place alongside Republic’s Black History Month exhibition in the Export Atrium. The exhibition features work by Jacqui Cooke, Lela Harris, and Omalola Mau, exploring themes of identity, heritage, representation, and Black British life. By combining the exhibition with hands-on creative workshops, the programme creates opportunities to experience Black creativity from different perspectives.
Come along to the Reclaiming the Image Workshop at Republic London, get creative, and connect with others through art.
