Join the Design Your Own Flag Workshop at Republic London and explore identity, belonging, and imagined futures through creativity and collective expression. This relaxed drop-in Pride workshop is led by VOICED. It invites participants to reflect on community, self-expression, and connection in an open and welcoming environment.
During the session, you can create your own miniature flag or banner using fabric scraps, paper, markers, collage materials, stickers, stamps, and thread. You can also respond to creative prompts exploring identity, memory, and belonging. As a result, each piece will reflect different experiences and perspectives.
The Design Your Own Flag Workshop encourages participants to imagine spaces where they feel safe, supported, and free to express themselves. For example, you might create a flag representing a future queer space, a personal memory, or a version of belonging you have not yet found.
You do not need any artistic experience to join. Instead, the workshop focuses on participation, reflection, and creative exploration. You can stay for a short time or take part for longer. Therefore, the session remains flexible and accessible for everyone.
As the workshop continues, individual flag pieces will come together as part of a growing collaborative display. In this way, the installation will celebrate shared experiences, creativity, and community connection across Republic.
