Bellydance Lab is a four-week series of workshops designed to introduce participants to Bellydance from a queer and decolonial perspective. Each session will combine movement exploration with discussions on the cultural and historical roots of Bellydance, offering a space for both physical and intellectual engagement.
What to Expect:
• A mirror-free, inclusive space focusing on embodied learning
• A collaborative teaching approach that values discussion and shared knowledge
• Exploration of traditional and modern styles of Bellydance
• Topics covering cultural appropriation, history, and representation
• Practical sessions, including Baladi choreography, movement technique, and creative processes
Who is this for?
This workshop is open to all levels, including beginners, intermediate, and advanced dancers. Queer individuals, deep thinkers, and those with Middle Eastern and North African backgrounds are especially encouraged to participate.
