Republic proudly hosts Beyond Belonging, a Pride Month exhibition curated by IT’S VOICED CIC. You can now visit the exhibition in the Export Building.
Beyond Belonging brings together emerging queer artists based in London. Through painting, photography, film, textiles, installation and mixed media, the artists explore identity, migration, community and intimacy.
The exhibition asks an important question: what does it mean to belong? For many people, belonging is not fixed. Instead, it changes over time and across places. Therefore, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on how people find, challenge, lose and rebuild belonging.
Moreover, the artworks explore themes of home, chosen family, queerness and connection. In turn, these works share a wide range of personal stories and lived experiences.
At the same time, the exhibition encourages visitors to think about how communities form and evolve. Furthermore, it creates opportunities for conversation, reflection and connection across the Republic community.
Beyond Belonging forms part of Republic’s Pride Month programme. It also reflects our commitment to creating spaces where diverse voices thrive and where everyone feels welcome.
