Please join us to celebrate the opening of the exhibition ‘What does a collector collect?’ curated by Museum X and private collector Julie Elizabeth. This joyful evening launches our Black History Month residency with art, conversation, photography, food, and music.

What to expect:

  • Live salon: power, memory & ownership
    A panel discussion on collecting, culture and identity, featuring collector Julie Elizabeth and exhibiting artists Natasha Muluswela, Gloria Bourne, and Love Hannington. Moderated by Sandra Shakespeare from Museum X.
  • Community portraits
    Photographer Brian Whar will be capturing pride and presence through live portrait sessions.
  • Cultural catering
    Delicious food by Oksana from Xenia’s, served alongside drinks, music, and space to connect.
