Hosted at Republic by resident charity Oitij-jo, Threads of Tales is a day of intergenerational storytelling through Nakshi Kantha – a traditional Bangladeshi embroidery technique that transforms cloth into narrative. The event includes two artist-led sessions using textiles as prompts for shared storytelling. The centrepiece is a two-sided embroidered artwork created by Ibraheem Paling (Moonless Night) and Kazi Istela Imam (Full-Moon Night), stitched by women in Shatkira under the guidance of Sraboni Mohalder.
