Bellydance Lab: Summer Intensive

A one-day workshop to deepen your connection to music, movement and self-expression. This special summer intensive is open to all genders and experience levels, and offers a welcoming space to explore bellydance through rhythm and veil technique. Bellydance Lab is part of Republic’s commitment to a vibrant, inclusive campus where creativity, wellbeing, and lifelong learning thrive.
What to expect:
Rhythmology (11am–1pm)
Learn to identify and interpret Arab rhythms through expressive movement. You’ll explore how different layers of music can shape emotion, presence and improvisation in dance.
Veil Practice (2pm–5pm)
Discover the flow and artistry of dancing with a veil. You’ll work through foundational technique, creative exercises and a short choreographed combination to build confidence and ease.
This is also a great chance to experience dancing over a longer session if you’re thinking of joining more advanced workshops in future. Bring a veil or scarf if you have one.
