To displace is to dislocate from its original position, to move away into unfamiliar territory. Different places contain their own culture, providing inhabitants with the information to survive. Relocation to a particular place means one must to adapt to these circumstances for survival, demanding strength to conform to new surroundings.
How do objects, animals and people adapt when they are misplaced? In what way has their home prepared them for their new environment, and what affected their development? What is now home? The Displacement Project seeks to respond to the notion of displacement, and the many answerless questions and perspectives surrounding adaptation to a new environment.
The exhibition takes place at Off Quay on the Republic site and entry is free.
