Based loosely on the premise ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ Downtime allows us a glimpse into the myriad things that people get up to in their spare time, whilst considering what these people do for work.
This progressive portrait study has been fuelled by Amanda’s fascination into what makes people tick. “I have been inspired, awed and humoured by the people who have shared their enthusiasm and dedication to a whole range of activities, from building boats to building Lego.
The exhibition also features Amanda’s ‘Hanami’ project. This small series of portraits portrays people celebrating the coming of the Cherry Blossom in Yoyogi Park, Tokyo.
