Republic Community News
We caught up with Beth, found of Sweet Nothing Bakery, to find out what's been cooking!
Please introduce yourself to the Republic Community!
Hi everyone, I’m Beth, the founder of SNB. I’m so excited to be a part of the Republic community, I cannot wait to meet you all, and feed you all things sweet!
How did Sweet Nothing start?
SNB started in my home kitchen in Hackney as a side hustle to a job I had in fashion. The vision was to create eye-catching, bespoke cakes, for customers and corporate clients. I then found and renovated an old horse trailer, quit my job and spent many of my weekends on the road, serving dessert and coffee at various markets, festivals and weddings, with the bespoke cakes as a separate offering, and luckily I was also able to secure a lot of corporate jobs, working with some very high profile clients. Now, 5 years on, I am grateful to be able to call Republic home and to be able to use it as my permanent base.
What are you most excited about in opening up your Sweet Nothing Bakehouse shop?
Having the space to work in a proper commercial kitchen, and not be restricted to a 2x4m trailer, and of course sharing all our signature and new bakes with you all!
What will Sweet Nothing Bakehouse be serving us?
Indulgent cakes, cookies, brownies, pastries, bread, chunky sandwiches, vegan soft-serve icecream and milkshakes, coffee, tea and a range of speciality hot and cold drinks. Brunch and desserts coming soon.
What’s your favourite product?
Has to be the drip cakes, and the vegan soft-serve.
When will Sweet Nothing be open to us?
We are aiming to open the week of the 29th March so fingers crossed nothing holds us back – we will keep you posted!
What are you looking forward to most about being part of the Republic Community and in the area?
Getting to be part of a community is great and something we never expected when we were looking for our dream home, (part of the reason we are here) but I am most excited to meet lots of new people and get involved with everything Republic has to offer.
Thanks Beth!
